When and why did you start your business?

Claire Holmes Nutrition PLLC was born from both personal experience and professional expertise. For over a decade, I struggled with hormonal imbalances, severe acne, and fatigue. When I learned how to fuel my body in a way that truly supported my health, I regained my energy, cleared my skin, and healed my relationship with food.

Determined to understand the science behind my transformation, I pursued a Master’s in Nutrition and Exercise Physiology at Columbia University and became a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. While working in hospitals and private practice, I realized that in order to offer truly individualized and impactful care, I needed to create my own business. I worked on my own and in 2025, I founded Claire Holmes Nutrition PLLC, an insurance-covered practice specializing in:

  • Women’s health: Fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, PCOS, endometriosis, PMS, perimenopause, menopause

  • Athletic performance: Marathon training, endurance, strength-building

  • Gut health & digestion: Optimizing gut function and managing GI disorders through medical nutrition therapy

  • Blood sugar & weight management: Supporting sustainable habits for energy balance and metabolic health

I created this practice to help people fuel their bodies properly so they can feel better, optimize performance, and manage their health.

What's your story?

I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist based in New York City and Long Island, with a passion for helping women feel strong, energized, and in control of their health. My journey began with my own struggles—hormonal imbalances, severe acne, and fatigue that left me searching for answers. When I discovered how nutrition could transform my health, I knew I had found my calling.

My background is unique, I originally studied Environmental Engineering at Lehigh University and later worked as a fashion model, which exposed me to the many factors that influence our well-being, from environmental toxins in beauty products to the way food and media shape our health.

To be able to help others and have a better understanding of nutrition’s impact on health, I earned my Master of Science in Nutrition and Exercise Physiology at Columbia University, completing 1,200+ hours of supervised clinical training across NYC hospitals and private practices. I also became a certified Integrative Nutrition Wellness Coach, allowing me to take a holistic approach to health that considers lifestyle, mindset, and environment.

Through my practice, I help clients break free from restrictive dieting, understand their bodies, and develop sustainable nutrition habits that align with their goals—whether that’s balancing hormones, optimizing digestion, fueling athletic performance, or improving energy levels.

What do you offer?

I provide personalized medical nutrition therapy and private nutrition counseling, using a board-certified, science-backed approach to support disease management and overall well-being. My focus is on identifying root causes of health challenges and creating practical, sustainable eating strategies that empower my clients to make confident food choices.

Through individualized guidance, I help clients understand what makes them feel their best while equipping them with the tools to build balanced meals, improve energy levels, and achieve long-term wellness.

My services include:

  • Personalized nutrition counseling tailored to your medical history, lifestyle, and goals

  • Educational resources, toolkits, and meal planning for sustainable habit-building

  • Expert guidance on food choices based on your unique health journey

I accept various insurance plans and also offer private pay options for flexibility and accessibility.

What else do you want people to know?

My mission is to guide others on their journey to sustainable health—the kind of health that works with you in your everyday life, rather than demanding perfection. I believe that well-being is a continuous journey, and every step toward a healthier life matters. I am here to support you in creating lasting, positive changes that align with your unique needs and lifestyle.
