Interview with:

Jeanine DiAngelo of Better Body Thermography

When and why did you start your business?

Jeanine has been a holistic nutritionist for over 15 years and then decided to add Thermography to her tool box because she was seeing so many people in need of a Full Body Preventative screening tool. She started the business 2 years ago (2021) and now has 10 locations across Long Island as well as 2 locations in New Jersey.

Important to note, Thermography is for Women, Men and even children can do it. It's completely safe with no radiation, no pain and no contact. It's also safe for pregnant and nursing women. Many people think it's just for breast and for women but Jeanine has a-lot of male clients as well.

What's your story?

Jeanine’s passion for nutrition started in 2001 when her father was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. She began researching and studying holistic approaches to wellness and how food choices greatly impact the body. She went back to school and became a clinical nutritionist and health coach.

Jeanine is most interested in the power of education. The foundation for health starts with education and learning how to prevent illness before it goes too far.

She has since given dozens of nutrition talks to adults and teenagers as well as doctors looking to learn more about whole foods, supplements, and alternative modalities for helping people.

Jeanine discovered thermography many years ago when she was looking into her own breast health. When she realized there were no preventive screenings for women under forty, she began to seek alternatives. This is how she found thermography and has been committed to it ever since.

She is dedicated to helping women and men feel their best and teaching wellness as a lifestyle. Thermography is an incredible tool in which to do so.

What do you offer?

Jeanine offers full body thermography as well as nutritional counseling for those who would like to work with her. This is important because so many people want to make positive lifestyle changes after they get their results back.

Thermography has the ability to detect things 8-10 years ahead of traditional medical screening tools. This is HUGE because it allows people to be proactive and make changes long before the issues turn into "dis-ease".

In addition, she also offers speaking engagements and educational events and loves to do them. Education is so important so she will often go to practitioners' offices to do events for them on thermography, inflammation, nutrition etc.

What else do you want people to know?

The key takeaway and the thing she tries to drive home as much as possible is Prevention. Prevention is truly the "magic pill"!

About Thermography and other FAQs:

“Thermography was FDA cleared as an adjunctive screening procedure for breast cancer in 1982.” - Better Body Thermography

Recent advancements in technology have allowed us to perform even more accurate exams. Studies have been performed on thermography when compared against other forms of testing.  A 2008 study published in the American Journal of Surgery, performed at New York Presbyterian Hospital Cornell showed a 97% sensitivity in discriminating cancer compared to biopsy. These results showed thermography to accurately identify 97% (58 of 60) of cancers when compared to mammography.  Obesity and large breasts were a limiting factor.

What is thermography?

Thermography is a screening tool using an medical infrared camera that records and analyzes the thermal patterns of the body . The thermal images are used by healthcare practitioners to help diagnose potential pathology, disease processes, and/or monitor pain in any part of your body. The screening is non-invasive, painless with no radiation or contact with the body

What Makes Thermography Unique?

Thermography or Digital Infrared Imaging (DITI) helps in detecting heat produced by an increased level of blood vessel circulation (angioneogenesis) and metabolic changes linked with the genesis of a tumor. Benefits to Thermography include:

  • Breast Thermography is safe and comfortable.

  • No Radiation

  • No Contact

  • No Compression

  • Easy to establish a baseline

  • Able to use for women with dense breasts and implants

  • Well Researched for more than 30 years (more than 800 peer-reviewed studies)

  • It helps to identify around 95% of the early stage of cancer in a multi-modal approach

What is thermography used for?

To aid in the earlier detection of pathology, disease and cancer.

To identify an abnormal area for further diagnostic testing.

To define a previously diagnosed injury or condition.

To evaluate sensory-nerve irritation or significant soft-tissue injury.

To follow progress of healing and rehabilitation.

How does thermography differ from screenings such as mammograms or ultrasound?

Thermography is a test of physiology, in other words, the normal or abnormal functions of the body. It detects and records the infrared heat radiating from the surface of the body. Thermography can help with early detection, monitoring abnormal physiology and/or the establishment of risk factors for the development or existence of inflammation that may be a cancerous process.

Mammography and ultrasound are tests of anatomy, they detect a structure. When a tumor has grown to a size that is large enough and dense enough to block an x-ray beam (mammography) or sound wave (ultrasound), it produces an image that can be analyzed by a trained radiologist.
