When and why did you start your business?

I started my business back in 2017, never thinking it would turn into a full time thing with a physical location.  It started small, in my basement with my closest friends and family friends who became my first official clients.  The basement workouts were originally a fun side weekend supplement to my full time government position at the time. Eventually, the requests for training and classes kept increasing and, with the support of my husband, I made the decision to leave my full time job and opened in Feather Hill in October 2017.

What's your story? 

I grew up on the North Fork, went away to college and realized how lucky I was to call this little end of the island, “home.” Throughout high school and college I always had a plan,  part of my plan worked out - I married my high school sweetheart.  And part of my plan did not - I abandoned the teaching career path.  I feel extremely fortunate to still call this place home with my husband and our four dogs.  It’s been very humbling to grow my business from my basement, through covid and some health challenges, and into something that I am really proud of.  

What do you offer?

Group training classes, private one on one training as well as private small group training.

Including: Kettlebells, LIFT, Body Sculpt, Mat pilates, HIIT, TRX+Core, Circuit, and BOSU+/BOSU30

What else do you want people to know?

Underground Training is a studio for all fitness levels.  I always recommend starting with LIFT, Body Sculpt, or the 30 min TRX class if you are getting back into, or new to, a fitness routine.  All classes can be booked through the Underground Training App available in the app and google stores. UG is a big warm welcoming family - don’t hesitate to try a class!
